Insulating Mats

Use Electrical Insulating Mats and Be Safe from Any Kind of Electric Shocks!

Be it at your workplace or home the very first thing that comes to mind while making sure that someone is safe at a place, is by ensuring the fact that the place is properly insulated.

However, although you pay extra attention that your house is insulated it is only natural for someone to not pay as much attention in order to be sure that their workplace is properly insulated.

Electrical insulating mats are one way of making sure that both your house and workplace is adequately insulated.

However, like everything else in life there is a catch.

Although it might sound all rosy and easy to have a place insulated, specialists and experts are needed to do the task properly.

Therefore, let us look at the installation process of an insulating rubber mat:

Equipments required:

  1. Insulating mats
  2. Roller
  3. Adhesive
  4. Brush
  • Make the floor ready

Any moisture or trapped air should be done away with. Furthermore, it is of utmost importance that you make the floor absolutely level and devoid of any cracks.

If there are any cracks present, it should be properly leveled using appropriate filling.

A protective coat of water-proofing can be used to make sure that the surface of both the mat and the sub-floor are dry.

  • Apply adhesives

The adhesive that experts recommend using is the Fevicol SR 998. It is the safest adhesive to go for mainly because it does not interfere with the process of installation and does not affect the features of electrical rubber mats.

Apply the recommended adhesive on both the floor and your insulating mat and wait for 10 minutes approximately.

The main purpose of doing this is to ensure the perfect attachment of the mat with the floor.

  • Place your mat

This one is probably the trickiest part of the entire installation process. Not only does it require a steady set of hand but it needs the person carrying out the task to have excellent eyesight.

Be sure to spread the mat evenly along the surface of your workplace or home.

  • Use roller

This is primarily done to ensure that there is no trace of trapped air or moisture is left between the insulating mat and your floor.

Leave it at least for a week to dry, and do not worry if there are no roller at your disposal. Regular weights can be used to carry out the task as well.

But why bother with insulating mats at all?

The answer is as straightforward as the question itself. The simple reason why so much importance is given to Insulation mats  is for the protection of the workers at a workplace.

Here are some other pointers for the importance that is given:
